I was avoiding doing this but..... I have a version of Help>Slipknot>Franklins as filler on one of my cassettes that I absolutely love but have no idea where its from. It's on a cassette from Toronto in '89 but lets just say it is very tight and compact, Jerry more solos in Slipknot rather than jams and again Franklins is more tight and compact rather than freeflowing. Donna is present so that puts it in the 70's I would say, I would guess '76. I have listened to ALL of the 76 versions available here on the archive but did not recognize it, although I thought I was getting real close around April or June. Anybody got any dates I might try? I may be able to upload it in the future but it is on cassette still and I am a little wary of my cassettes fragile state, I want to only play it again once to digitize it. Thanks for any help that might be out there.

OK- I am being outsmarted by my own computer.. I replied rather than edited. In a nutshell>>> Help 8-9 minutes; Slipknot! 6 minutes; franklins about 12, just guessing. I guess I would not be allowed to upload it to this site huh?

You can also type in the venue name into Deadlists to find the dates they played there, as well as the city.

I am willing to bet that it's from 8/13/75 aka One From The Vault.

or if not,

2/26/77
4/23/77
5/9/77
6/9/77

ksantilli -- Do you know the approx. length of each tune or all three combined? If yes, edit your post and includes the time(s) --- one of the crew here can track it down through Deadbase, etc. - AshesRising

Is there a Bill Graham intro before the music begins? Do you have a copy of 1 from the Vault to compare the tape with?

Sorry I don't have the exact info just yet but I would venture--- Help on the Way- 8 mins.
Slipknot - 6 mins
Franklins - 10 -12 mins maybe a bit longer
There is no intro or other identifing remarks. I know if I was able upload it you guys would be able to identify it pretty quick. A couple of you have mentioned One from the Vault, which I do not own yet. But it is short and tightand Slipknot just wails. It goes into it and then Jerry solos for about 4-5 minutes, just as fast as could be,with no venturing off anywhere, then right on cue Phil moves everybody back into Slipknot but only for a couple of bars and then off to Franklins. Don't get me wrong, I love Jerry's long spacey jams the best, but I have just really fallen in love with this.

Hi,
You're description sounds like the version from the first Vault. More structured than a typical show. The boys were off and not on tour at the time but actually rehearsing alot coming out of the break

You are exactly right, with help like yours I was able to stream that date from sugarmegs and it is indeed 1 from the Vault. The rest of the show is real good also. The funny thing is I had a tape copy of set 2 only before it became a commercial release so never bothered to pick it up but rather explore other stuff until now. Thanks for the help!!!
